Artist Notes: Darkness is as Light to you: Psalm 139 says that even when we feel far from God, or try to take ourselves far away from Him, he is always close to us. In this image the orange flame in the center is the shape of a crying person. And this person is surrounded by what seems like the void and emptiness of outer space. But what we do not realize when we feel alone and despairing like that is that we may be at the very center of God's eye, and we are in fact his light shining in his world. And when it seems like our candle has burned to the bottom, and all our we are exhausted and our resources have been used up, we can remember that God's hands are there waiting to catch us as shown in the candle holder. - - Ross Boone
